The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin (ADRC-CW) promotes choice and independence through personalized education, advocacy, and access to services that prevent, delay, and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities in the lives of adults. Services are also available to families, friends, caregivers and others who work with or care about older people or people with disabilities.

The ADRC-CW serves the counties of Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood.


Senior Nutrition Programs:

Meals on Wheels:

Eligibility: Individuals age 60+ , unable to prepare a meal, and are homebound.  ADRC-CW  will conduct an eligibility assessment before beginning service. ( Suggested meal contribution:  is $4.50 per meal (no one is denied service due to inability to pay).

Senior Dining:

Program offers a nutritious meal and a chance to socialize with others. 

The Senior Dining program in Marathon Co is located at the Hmong American Center located at 1109 N 6th Street, Wausau.. All are welcome. Suggested contribution is $3.75. Program is every Thursday at 4:30. Call 715-842-8390 by noon the day before to register and reserve a meal.

Cafe 60:

Offers  dining options through  participating restaurants in rural Marathon County.Individuals register through the ADRC-CW  to obtain vouchers that can be used as payment for  a variety of healthy meal options  on the Cafe 60 menu. Suggested contribution for a Cafe 60 coupon is $4.50. To get an updated list of participating  restaurants or register for coupons, contact the ADRC-CW.


Benefit Specialists:

Elder Benefit Specialists: Work with Older Adults age 60+ on benefit related questions and issues.

Disability Benefit Specialist: Work with Adults with disabilities age 18-59 on benefit related questions and issues.

Benefit Specialists can help answer questions and solve problems related to public and private benefits such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, FoodShare, and  health insurance. Provides accurate information about a wide variety of programs that cover healthcare, food, and other household expenses and can also help individuals identify and apply for programs that best meet their needs.


Resources and Options:

ADRC-CW provides reliable and objective information about a broad range of programs and services. They help people understand and evaluate the various options available to them.

Long Term Care Programs:

ADRC-CW serves as the single access point for publicly funded long-term care programs which includes Family Care and IRIS

Youth Transition Services:

Transitioning from school to adulthood can often be overwhelming and confusing, especially for adults with disabilities. We can help you navigate all of your options, making sure you have all of the necessary services in place to make this next adventure in your life successful!


Support for Caregivers:

A caregiver can be family, friend, spouse, etc who assists someone with their daily needs. A caregiver could assist with medications, bathing,  meal preparation, and transportation..

Caregiver Support Coordinators

Meet with caregivers to discuss the different options and resources for their unique situation.  Provide information on support groups, respite care options, helping someone with personal care, or ways for the caregiver to better care of themselves. They can provide information, support and resources to the caregiver even as the role of a caregiver changes and evolves.  Caregiver Support Coordinators discuss challenges and help identify workable solutions, share information on resources that can provide support, and help  caregivers and families connect with respite care and other in-home care options. Caregiver support coordinators can assess eligibility for grants that may help offset costs in providing specific types of care. 

Dementia Care Specialists:

Provide education and support to the community and individuals and families living with dementia.  It is important to identify and address memory concerns early by obtaining baseline memory screens.  Educational programs, support group information, and Dementia Live experiences can be provided to interested individuals and groups.

  • Savvy Caregiver: for family caregivers providing care for a loved one with dementia.
